On behalf of our client, an award winning engineering manufacturer, we are recruiting for an experienced and dynamic Finance Manager/Controller to join their management team.
Based at their head office in Saddleworth key responsibilities of the Job Role include;
- Managing all finance and accounting operations.
- Managing a team of 2 people.
- Preparing and publishing timely monthly financial management accounts
- Managing the month-end and year-end close process.
- Working closely with production/operations to ensure accurate flow of financial data.
- Report back to local management and Group management on a monthly basis.
- Liaising with the auditors and managing the audit process.
- Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts.
- Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
- Monitor cash flow.
- Develop and improve document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Preparation and submission of quarterly VAT returns.
- Preparation and submission of monthly payroll and pension.
- Ad hoc HR duties.
To be considered for this opportunity the successful candidate will have the following requirements and Skills:
- Preferably ACCA or CIMA qualified.
- Proven working experience (min 5 years) within a manufacturing environment as a Finance Manager/Controller, or something similar.
- Knowledge of Aptean Unity (or similar) ERP software which integrates and manages manufacturing and financial systems would be advantageous.
- Sage payroll experience.
- Experience of Job Costings and Bills of Materials
- Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
- Must be proficient with Excel.
- Flexible work ethic.
